The Michigan coaches dropped in on a few youngsters while in the state of Illinois, one of them being Nile Sykes. On film Sykes absolutely jumps off the screen while watching him terrorize offensive tackles with his cat-quick jump. He is a bit compact for a typical defensive end but his speed and strength are very apparent and effective. He easily beats linemen off the edge and punishes running backs and quarterbacks afterwards. As mentioned in prior articles Michigan has done well in Illinois and that may give them some momentum recruiting Sykes.
Michigan dropping in: Yeah they stopped in and told me that they have seen my film and they like what they see. They said they wanted to keep evaluating me and they told me to stay in touch.
Feeling Michigan: Michigan is definitely a school I'll really look into. When I make the phone call up there I'm going to set up a visit. That will really give me a chance to talk to more of the coaches and see the facilities. Obviously Michigan has a great football tradition so I like that.
Connection to Michigan: I have family that lives in Rockford and they definitely will be trying to convince me to go to Michigan but ultimately it will come down to where I'm most comfortable. Also, I've been on the outside of The Big House but never inside.
Looking for: I want a great opportunity for an education. I'm looking for a good business management program or a sports medicine program.
Sykes has become a "Wishlist Wolverine" for me. He looks like a game changer rushing the passer even though he's a bit short for a defensive end. He still has time to grow and get even better which is scary after watching his tape. I'd be shocked if Michigan doesn't offer Sykes.

Michigan has one of if not the best Business schools in the nation (Ross Business School you've probably heard of it)
ReplyDeleteCB3 your right about his height but he still has time to grow a little. Not that it really matters kid can play. Good motor, makes tackles and disrupt things. I could see him at DT as well.
