2015 Names to Watch: Evan Mallory

Michigan has dealt out two offers to 2015 prospects and I think at some point Evan Mallory will be a part of that list too.  The 16 year old is already as big as most incoming freshmen linemen and carries his nearly 300 lbs. very well.  Mallory dominates on the gridiron but he also possesses the athletic ability to succeed on the wrestling mat.  Last weekend he went 4-0 in a conference tournament with 4 pins.  In talking with Evan I learned four key things: the kid is strong, smart, determined, and absolutely loves Michigan.

Recruiting:  I have had unofficial visits to Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, and Michigan.  Iowa visited me yesterday during school and I did a bus tour with Team First camps last summer.  I also went to the Nike SPARQ Combine in Illinois back in June.

Who do you like?  I think there are a lot of nice schools but my favorite has always been Michigan and my family has always been Michigan fans.  My dad grew up there and I just grew up a big fan.  To be honest, my visit to Michigan was my favorite too.  It really seemed like everyone was more excited to be there than at any other game.  There was so much energy and it's such an awesome stadium.  I just thought to myself that it would be an awesome place to play.

If offered by Michigan:  I would say that would be it for me.  It's my dream school and I would love to attend Michigan if I do get an offer.

Coaches:  I have met Coach Mallory and Coach Funk.  I've had conversations with both of them and I talked to Coach Funk a little bit about camps for this summer.

Camp/summer plans:  I definitely plan on going to a camp I just don't know what days yet.  I left a message with Coach Mallory and I'm trying to get in touch with him to see about the dates.

I really enjoyed talking to Evan.  He was just an all around good kid who genuinely loves Michigan.  He talked about how half of his wardrobe is Michigan apparel and there is proof on his Facebook page.  I haven't seen any film of Mallory at this point so there's no real way to gauge exactly how good he is but he has the size and the coaching staff is obviously interested.  With Mallory loving Michigan and the coaches already forming a relationship with him, I think he's a Wolverine in 2015.
