| O'Connor now attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL |
The Michigan coaching staff has been very busy making appearances at multiple high schools across the country to check in on targets and potential targets from 2013, 2014, and even 2015. Coach Borges was in Florida on Monday to watch quarterback Michael O'Connor throw for about a half an hour according to O'Connor himself. Michael didn't speak with Coach Borges but he knew he was coming and his throwing session was the main focus. O'Connor said he wasn't sure if an offer was imminent, but I think a coach coming all the way to Florida to watch you throw for 30 minutes is a pretty good sign. O'Connor said he was "quite interested" in Michigan now that they are showing more interest in him. When I asked him if Michigan was ahead of Michigan State, who he mentioned as his leader about a month ago, he said
"It's hard to say out of respect to MSU." That to me sounds like Sparty might be taking a back seat nowadays. He did admit to Michigan definitely being "up there" on his list placing them in his Top 3 with Michigan State and Vanderbilt. Just about a week ago I did an article about "The Top 3" QB's and O'Connor wasn't on that list, but now it's looking like it should've been "The Final Four" QB's with O'Connor making a surge as of late. Regardless of whether its three or four, I fully expect offers to go out to
some 2014 signal-callers over the next week or two.
Any film on this guy? What do we know know about him?
ReplyDeleteHe's got some limited film out there. He moved to Tennessee from Canada and now to Florida to attend the IMG Academy. I'll try to put some video on here later.
