Ht/Wt: 5'10"/195 lbs.
Location: Cass Tech High School - Detroit, MI
Class: 2015
Offers: Illinois, Michigan, Syracuse
The Cass Tech pipeline continues to produce top talent and Michigan is trying to reel it in by offering stud running back Mikey Weber. Weber is a strong, compact runner with terrific speed. He isn't a long-strider and doesn't look that fast, but all he does is get the edge and run away from people. He's listed as having a 4.47 40-yard dash time which is definitely moving for a 200 lb., sophomore running back. Mikey was a cool kid to talk to and had some very good things to say about Michigan.
The offer: Fred Jackson came in and offered me. He told my coach and my coach told me. I feel really good about getting that offer, it was a blessing, especially being from one of the top schools.
Feeling Michigan: They were my team growing up, them and Notre Dame. I really like the academics and the program. The facilities at Michigan and all my old teammates that are there or going to be going there is cool too. I will say Michigan is up there. Go Blue!
Cass Tech Pipeline: That will be a big factor knowing I have all my guys there. It would really make for a cool experience. Delano Hill is like a brother so knowing he's going there is good.
Visiting Michigan: I've been to Michigan a lot. (laughs) I can't count how many times. When you visit you can tell the people around are good people and it always has a home feeling to it.
Chances of committing to Michigan: I'm not sure yet. I still have a lot of time to decide but Michigan will be one of the schools I decide from. I've always wanted to commit at the All-American game on TV but if that doesn't work out I'll just commit before my senior season starts.
Weber is only the third offer from the 2015 class so he is obviously a high priority for the coaching staff. Weber is expecting another offer from Michigan State while the Spartan coaches visit Cass Tech on Thursday and I'm sure many others are on the way. Even with the projected explosion of his recruitment I think Michigan has an excellent chance of landing young Mr. Weber.
Not impressed whatsoever. No way he runs a sub 4.5. They offered him though, and they know more than me.
ReplyDeleteWhy are you not impressed? The coaches know what they are doing trust the system....Cass Tech is becoming a powerhouse if not already and I would like to keep the pipeline open.
DeleteWally- I'm not impressed b/c he repeatedly got caught from behind. He seems to take forever to get going, and when he does, it still doesn't appear to be that fast.
