A few days ago Michigan extended an offer to Juwann Winfree who is listed as an athlete on the recruiting services. I was able to talk briefly with Juwann about his interest in Michigan and also where he might play in college.
The offer: My football coach told me and I spoke with the coaches earlier in the morning after he told me.
Michigan knowledge: Besides knowing about Coach Hoke and that it's in Ann Arbor I know that they have a rich football history. I know that they produce big time athletes and they have the biggest stadium in the country.
Feeling Michigan: Well I don't have a list really but they would definitely be top 10 for me. Michigan might have a chance with me. A lot of people are trying to get me to go there. (Laughs) A lot of my friends, my mom and her friend really want me to go there. I'm feeling them too but I definitely plan to take an official visit up there. I really just want to go somewhere I can play a lot.
Position: The Michigan coaches offered me as a wide receiver.
I didn't get a vibe that Michigan had a great chance with Juwann but he's got a lot of people pulling for the Wolverines. He seems to favor Rutgers but I believe there is a lot of recruitment left for him.
I see the coaches have identified their position of need. Getting in on all of these guys now should help us in the long run.
