As you can see, this event features lots of kids that already have serious interest in Michigan.  In the past, the BBQ at the Big House has either led to commitments or played a large role in solidifying many pledged to the Wolverines.  ESPN's Tom VanHaaren broke down Michigan's success in reeling in BBQ visitors today on Twitter:

Michigan is currently slated to receive 27 visitors at the BBQ with potential for that number to climb into the 30s before Saturday.  Don't be surprised to hear of news coming out of Ann Arbor before next Monday rolls around.

  1. This is one of the things that Rich Rod did that turned out to be great. And a much better event than ohio's Friday Night Lights. No competition, much more face time with the coaches, and it's 30 kids getting to know Michigan instead of 80 kids at yet another competition camp.

  2. This is thr ONLY thing Rich Rod brought to the program that was a positive. It's so good that I almost can't give him credit for it.

  3. Too bad Marshon Lattimore isn't going to be coming up after FNL at OSU. I would love to steal him from them. He is likely as close to a lock as it gets, but it sure would be AMAZING to steal one back after Damon Webb.

  4. I would have to agree the BBQ is a great new tradition at UM now and we have RR to thank for that. It pains me to say anything nice about him.

This is a very impressive list of players. Would have loved to see guys like Jackson, Hand, McDowell (still don't know why he is not visiting. He is like an hour away ) and Peppers.

Eric reading the last sentence of your post who do to expect to commit? Swenson? We are going thru commitment withdrew give us a hint?

  5. Touch the banner has a update on the BBQ. Hilliman will not make it to the BBQ.

  6. 2015 CB Shaun Crawford and 2016 OT Erik Swenson are possible to drop this weekend.

  7. McDowell is coming to the BBQ. Lets hope he commits.
